EROSION B/W COLD SWEAT

We're releasing a new 7" on God Mode Records digitally on 2/14 (Valentine's Day, for all you lovers out there...because nothing says "I love you" more than loud, noisy, pounding music) and on limited edition vinyl on 3/27.

Pitchfork premiered "Cold Sweat" and you can download it here.
Stereogum also picked it up.
Gimme Tinnitus had some nice things to say.
Redefine is into it and featured our track with one from Extra Life.

We will be playing at Haverford College on 3/16 and then we will be playing at Shea Stadium with Pop. 1280 on 3/24.  Until those dates, we're pretty much in hibernation, writing and writing and writing.

NEW MUSIC

We are releasing a two-song 7" on God Mode Records.  We spent a number of weeks at the end of last Summer and transitioning into Fall recording and mixing these with Nick Sylvester and Matt LeMay.  The songs were mastered by Joe Lambert at JLM Sound.    The digital version comes out on 2/14/12 (Valentine's Day) and vinyl will follow in March.

SOME FAVORITES FROM 2011

We waited until the last minute to post this one, because it's actually the last day of the year.  It's not a Top 10 list or a Top 50 list or a "Worst Album Art of 2011" list or anything like that.  Just some things that stood out.

Here are some favorites from the past year.  We probably left a lot out.

In no order:

The Caretaker - An Empty Bliss Beyond This World
Colin Stetson - New History Warfare
Oneohtrix Point Never - Replica
Amen Dunes - Through Donkey Jaw
The Psychic Paramount - II
White Suns - Waking In The Reservoir
Gang Gang Dance - Eye Contact
Eric Copeland - Whorehouse Blues
Neptune - Silent Partner
Hubble - Hubble Drums
Ricardo Villalobos and Max Loderbauer - Re: ECM
Extra Life - Ripped Heart
Snowman - Absence
Jonas Reinhart - Music for the Tactile Dome

See you later, 2011.

HIGH TIMES

Grab your bong and get ready: we're in this month's issue of High Times Magazine.  Our review is in there alongside an interview with Elijah Wood and an article about Judas Priestess, the all-female Judas Priest cover band.  Oh, and I think there's some writing about weed in this issue, too.

In any case, we're stoked.  Or should I say toked?  Sorry.

RECORDING: PHASE 1 COMPLETE

Working on two new songs with Nick Sylvester and Matt LeMay.  We tracked all the drums, guitars, vocals, and noises/effects and it's already sounding good.  Mixing to come.

In the mean time, we just added a show for the last day of September with DD/MM/YYYY and BAMBARA.  Did you know DD/MM/YYYY is releasing a split LP with BEAK>?  (BEAK> features Geoff Barrow of Portishead.)  Anyway, this will be a killer show.
